Vimalagiri Ashram
The long cherished desire to start a new foundation of our congregation in the backward areas of Wayanad was realized when Rev. Dr. Joseph Kalathiparambil D.D., the Bishop of Calicut took initiative to start our ashram in Sultan Bathery.
As directed by Rev. Fr. K.P. Xavier CR, the Prior General and his Councilors Rev. Bro. Fiat took initiative to start the ashram and together with Fr. General and Fr. Sabu Thomas met Bishop in Chundale Church in wayanad and had a meeting at Vythri Church and had a detailed talk. The Bishop himself named the new foundation as Vimalagiri Ashram.
Rev. Bro. Fiat came to the new place on 4th September 2004 and undertook some repair works and painting. Fr. Prior General, Rev. Fr. Sabu Thomas and Rev. Bro. Boniface accompanied him and stayed with him for few days. Rev. Fr. P.V. Mathew joined them on 9th September 2004.
On 28th October 2004, Rev. Dr. Joseph Kalathiparabil the Bishop of Calicut visited the new ashram and made use this opportunity to bless the existing old small building. A small part of the old house was converted as chapel and the bishop allowed us to preserve Blessed Sacrament. The occasion was solemnized by the presence of Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Divanniose the bishop of Batherry Syro-Malankara diocese together with priests and religious from neighboring institutions and parishes.
