B. A. Thomas OMI
He was born in 1986 on Jan 26th. He was born a sickly child baptized on the same day, but lived 78 years by the Divine Providence. He was asked by the Bishop of Jaffna Sri Lanka to start the Rosarian Contemplative Congregation. He was known for his sanctity and love for the poor. He founded Contemplative Congregation for men and women. His beatification cause is in the Roman Phase. It was the unanimous opinion of all who had contact with Fr. Thomas,OMI, that he was a man of God, a saint. These included besides his own spiritual children, members of the Rosarian Congregations of men and women, also outsiders, Christians as well as non-Christians.
Who Are The Rosarians?
The congregation of the Rosarians is the First Indigenous Contemplative Congregation was founded by a dedicated holy priest Rev.Fr.B.A.Thomas OMI in 1928 in Sri Lanka in response to the call of Pope Pius XI in the encyclical letter “Rerum Eclesiae” (1926) to start indigenous contemplative houses in the mission lands to function as “ POWER HOUSE” of the diocese to energize the apostolic mission and a fitting response to the call of our Blessed Mother at Lourdes and Fatima for PRAYER, PENANCE and PRAYING THE HOLY ROSARY for the World Peace and to evangelize the world.

A Silent Hermit. He was born in 1882. 12.18 in Tuticorin Tamilnadu. He was a liberator and a reformer who liberated souls from the clutches of Satan. As a social reformer he set free the oppressed and the low caste citizens from the fetters of bonded labour, social taboos and suppressed status.

Dear Friends, I am very glad to introduce the website of the Rosarians; The First Indigenous Contemplative Congregation of the Rosarians in Asia. This was an inspiration from the Holy Spirit and a Divine commission from the Supreme Pontiff Pius XI in the year 1926 through his encyclical letter “Rerum Eclesiae” inviting the mission lands to begin the Indigenous Religious Congregations. A holy priest, Servant of God B.A. Thomas OMI founded this humble congregation to support the Mission of Evangelization with the Power of Prayer on 2nd February 1928 at Tholagatty, in the Diocese of Jaffna, Sri Lanka. It is marching towards it’s centenary with 25 monasteries, 19 Monasteries in India, 6 in Sri Lanka, one in Canada and one is USA. We welcome everyone to join us in the mission of evangelization through Prayer, especially around-clock adoration with the recital of the Holy Rosary.

Aged and Sickly
The Congregation of the Rosarians is an indigenous Contemplative Congregation, that engages only in the Mission of Prayer and Retreat. As they do not have any source of income they depend on Divine Providence through donors to cater to the formation of their young Religious who will be the future priests and their sickly and aged members who need medical care.
