Celebrating Rev. Bro. John Lakra CR’s Patronal Feast Day

On June 24th, 2024, the Rosarian community joyfully celebrated the feast day of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist. This special day also marked the Patronal Feast day of Rev. Bro. John Lakra CR, one of the General Councillors of the Rosarian Congregation.

The celebration began with a Holy Mass at 6:30 AM, bringing together members from both the Rosarian Generalate and Rosarian Training Centre (RTC) in Bengaluru. Very Rev. Fr. Justin Raj CR, the Prior General, was the main celebrant of the Eucharist.

In his homily, Fr. Justin Raj CR spoke profoundly about St. John the Baptist’s simplicity and humility, qualities that enabled him to point out the Lamb of God. He emphasized that possessing simplicity and humility is a true mark of spirituality. He also highlighted St. John the Baptist’s courage to stand for the truth and his role in preparing the way for the Lord. He encouraged and challenged everyone to be signs and witnesses of Christ, imitating St. John the Baptist in their daily lives. He also thanked Rev. Bro. John Lakra CR for his availability and committed service to the community.

After the Mass, the community gathered in the Rosarian Generalate Refectory to greet and celebrate with Rev. Bro. John Lakra CR. The Community sang a heartfelt wishing song, followed by a joyful cake-cutting ceremony with the feastarian. The gathering was filled with warmth and camaraderie as everyone shared a delicious breakfast.

The feast day was a wonderful occasion to honour Rev. Bro. John Lakra CR and reflect on the virtues of St. John the Baptist. It was a day filled with blessings, joyful fellowship, and a renewed commitment to living out the values exemplified by St. John the Baptist.

Everyone extended the festal greetings and prayers to Rev. Bro. John Lakra CR. May he continues to be inspired by St. John the Baptist and lead with humility and courage.
