On August 10, 2024, the Rosarian Generalate in Bengaluru celebrated the Feast Day of St. Lawrence with great devotion and joy. The Holy Mass was officiated by Rev. Fr. Lawrence CR, who serves as the Bursar General and Superior, alongside Rev. Bro. Prabhat Kumar CR, who also celebrated his patronal feast day.
The celebration began with an introduction by Very Rev. Fr. Justin Raj CR, the Prior General. He extended his congratulations to the feastarians, Rev. Fr. Lawrence CR and Rev. Bro. Prabhat Kumar CR, acknowledging their dedicated service to the Rosarian Generalate Community. Members of both the RG and RTC communities, as well as four Rosarian sisters, were present, adding to the sense of unity and fellowship.
Rev. Fr. Lawrence CR delivered a moving homily centred on the theme “God Loves a Cheerful Giver,” drawing inspiration from the life of St. Lawrence. He highlighted how the virtue of cheerful giving is embodied by God Himself, beginning with the creation of the world. Fr. Lawrence explained how, in the Book of Genesis, God gave everything to humanity without reservation, demonstrating the ultimate act of selfless giving. He also reflected on the life of Abraham, who was willing to offer his only son without hesitation, thereby receiving even greater blessings from God.
From the life of St. Lawrence, Fr. Lawrence emphasized three key attitudes of cheerfulness: Giving Cheerfully, Serving Cheerfully, and Receiving Cheerfully. His homily resonated deeply with the congregation, offering valuable lessons on the joy and blessings that come from a generous heart.
Following the Holy Mass, the community gathered in the Rosarian Generalate refectory for a festive celebration. The feastarians, Rev. Fr. Lawrence CR and Rev. Bro. Prabhat Kumar CR, cut the cake, and the Prior General offered his heartfelt wishes on behalf of everyone gathered. The brothers sang a festive song, and the atmosphere was filled with joy as everyone exchanged greetings and shared breakfast together.
The Feast Day of St. Lawrence was marked by a spirit of gratitude, joy, and togetherness, making it a memorable and uplifting occasion for all who attended.
